Treating Low Blood Pressure
If you want to treat low blood pressure, you will need to first address the cause. When you have to deal with chronic low blood pressure, we know this is treatable using a combination of a healthy diet for your case and a general change in lifestyle. Below are some pointers towards integrating a good diet for hypotension.
Make food more salty. Salty food is great as part of a low blood pressure treatment. It increases the amount of blood pressure by retaining fluids. This is not 100% recommended in people with heart failure problems.
Do exercising regularly. Doing exercise is a great way to have a healthier system and it will promote blood flow.
Drink plenty of water. This is essential in all low blood pressure treatments. You should drink at least 10 glasses of water per day to keep you blood volume in healthy levels. It is doubly important to drink lots of water on hot weather or during exercise.
In cases of patients with postural hypotension, it is recommended to shift the posture smoothly, without standing up too quickly. Take your time, take a deep breath and start pumping your feet to begin blood flow. When resting on the bed is sometimes recommended to stretch the leg before standing up.
As part of low blood pressure treatment for postural hypotension, doctors also recommend elevating a bit the head of the bed. You should also avoid too much strain when going to the toilet and avoid heavy lifting.
To treat low blood pressure if you suffer from it after meals, you should change the way you eat, eating smaller meals in more frequency. Be sure to avoid high carb food!
